Ive been keeping a file of notes on using the current CVS build of fire over the past month. Some of this stuff is probably already know to the developers, but i figure u might like a bit of feedback Drawer Based Window If u close the drawer there is no easy way to open it back up. Needs maybe a toggle drawer option The users names in the drawer need to change colour according to their status (idle etc) The icon in the drawer could go even darker when a user logs off - needs something more visual to indicate the user is not online Might be nice to be able to control click on buddies in the drawer to access items similar to inthe "buddy controls" toolbar item Ive noticed that if window toolbar is set to Text Only the Buddy Controls item will become dim and inactive when a message comes thru or if a typing notifcation starts. It dosent seem to happen with the toolbar set to "icon only" or "icon & text" (this happens in both drawer based and panel based windows) Chat History Ability to choose a different default web style for chat history. Ive noticed when im looking back on past conversations some of the styles feel too "busy" and the more simplified ones seem more appropriate When doing searches it doesnt highlight the search text for conversations which have webkit styles Styles Pref Pane A way for user customised styles to be renamed and deleted A way to import a background pic - people might not be able to easily whip up their own webkit style, but a background pic would allow them to make it a highly personalised version of an existing style |

The web display itself is the EXACT same class as the one that is used for the chat window display. On top of that, the storedIM viewer doesn't even know that a web display is used and the web display doesn't even know if it viewing a stored IM. I will look into it though, but it is low on the priority list. > When doing searches it doesnt highlight the search text for > conversations which have webkit styles > Yeah, I know about this. On the todo list. > Styles Pref Pane > A way for user customised styles to be renamed and deleted Easy to add, consider it added to the todo list along with a button to rescan/reload styles. > A way to import a background pic - people might not be able to easily > whip up their own webkit style, but a background pic would allow them > to make it a highly personalised version of an existing style > Another that is not as easy as it may seem on the basis of how the styles work. It's also worth mentioning that the typing notification that appears in the drawer differs from the standard image that is overlaid on the "Buddy Controls" toolbar item. This is less than ideal. > Might be nice to be able to control click on buddies in the drawer to > access items similar to inthe "buddy controls" toolbar item Definitely! Thanks for the feedback, Mark |
