#167 Group chat support for Jabber.

Some Future Release

It would be very nice indeed to see support for
Jabber's 'conferencing'. For our corporate use this
feature would make Fire more practical. We'll
struggle through until then, however.

And SSL support, while I'm hoping.

And a pony. Can Fire grant me a pony?

I agree with the need. I'm forced to use a "lesser" client
because I'm required to join group chats.

Indeed... jabber chat would make use of Fire quite complete.
The SSL feature in the new release is quite nice. This is
the only thing I see as a hinderance right now.

I agree - we really could use the conferencing feature in jabber

I agree. The most import feature for the Jabber service is group
chat. There is very little support for it on the OS X side.

Group chat is definitly the feature that is holding me back
from using Fire at work. We have to use private im system
to keep our info inside the firewall.

    Hook it up!!

Yes, please add Group Chat! Same problem as the original poster.
No other im client is as good as fire!

Forget about the pony :) Yeah, Group Chat support would be
really great! Fire is the best IM Client I have seen so far
for OS X, this is the only feature missing (for me).

    Thanks for the work!

Me too! Group chat is a must have. Jabber is becoming widely used in
the IETF but always with groupchat. (of course SSL and PGP are must
have's too and thanks for adding them!)

is there a plan what needs to be done to get the group chat / MUC
feature up and running? Any FOSS projects identified which may provide

Basically we need to hook up the same sort of code we already have
working in AIM, Yahoo, and MSN for group chat.

This may or may not require switching libraries... I haven't really looked
    into it in detail yet.
