It would be great if this scientific package could be made available through Fink to OSX users. It is Linux software which carries out spatial and temporal coalescent analysis. http://www.splatche.com/download/splatche2_linux.zip.
Unfortunately, the splatche authors do not provide the source code for their software, which makes it impossible for a 3rd party to create a package for any system. The only downloads they provide are Windows and Linux runtime binaries, which will only work on Windows and Linux.
If you do wish to have an OS X version of splatche, please contact the authors and urge them to either 1) release the source code under some license of their choice (restrictive, free, or somewhere in between) that is compatible with a package manager like Fink or 2) make their own OS X binaries and have them available for download.
I'm setting this item to "Closed" because unfortunately there's nothing the Fink Project can do without the authors making the source code available. If you do get a response from the authors and they make the source code available, please reopen this item and write that the code is now available.
