The version of fink and the fink packages on your computer is newer than the current stable distribution because you have updated it via CVS. Apt-get cannot find a binary package for bitchx because it doesn't exist yet. Once Max Horn deems Fink ready for a new release, binaries of all the stable (CVS) packages will be made, and added to the Sourceforge servers, so that when you use dselect or apt-get, you can download and install the binary packages. (Same goes with the web page). Sorry if this wasn't particularly clear. If you haven't already, it may be an idea to read the Documentation and FAQ, and if you have already, maybe this sort of information should be included in it! :) HTH. |
