Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerFinal2.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 Release Notes: FFP Final 2 * Probably the last release as 1.1 support is not planned. * Added a button to skip past the jobs wait to the splashscreen. * Included StoneCut's Updated Readme. * Includes NML export. * BPM now exported to the ID3v2 field Traktor uses for BPM. (this is the only difference between final and final 2) The NML export is intended for the few users who have problems with the 1.0.7-1.0.8 update. Why a final release? 1.0 had a variety of issues and it didn't look like they'd get fixed. So someone had to step in. 1.1's got an enthusiastic, active and very competent dev team behind it, and I'm sure that all issues will be addressed by them in the coming months. Also with official windows support on the way, the need to analyse etc. under windows will become moot. I do plan to extract out the BPM engine at some point in the next few months. Good luck in all your endeavours, behind the decks or otherwise. Pete. PS If anyone wants to step in or take over development, feel free to get in touch! ----------------------------------------------- I'll mail this list if there are any changes, new things from other people etc. |

IMPORTANT NOTE: Updating is strongly recommended. Versions 32 and 33 wrote improper ID3v2.4 tags. This version writes ID3v2.3 tags. Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha34.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 Release Notes: Alpha 34 * Fixed bug that meant we were writing ID3v2.4 tags (we now write ID3v2.3). * Fixed PCDJ BPM export. DO NOT USE Alpha 32 or 33. They _kinda_ write ID3v2.4 tags, but not really. Backing up and testing and are still recommended. The tag writing code is still early, so please get in touch if it behaves unexpectedly. Thanks! See the Alpha 32 release notes for full info. Alpha 33 (Limited Testing Release) * Added option to left FSDB contents over-write ID3 contents. I added this feature by user request. In alpha 32 the app would never overwrite existing information in the ID3 tags. If the new option is enabled your Final Scratch Info will over-write the ID3 info. |

Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha32.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 Release Notes: Alpha 32 * New Splashscreen, courtesy of ION. * Added FSDB -> ID3 Job. * Added option to export BPM's in PCDJ format (x 100). * Added option to only export BPM. A few notes about the FSDB->ID3 feature * The export will not overwrite any existing field in a tag. It will add extra fields if they don't exist. * By default all available fields except producer are transferred. * The only BPM option means that only BPM's are exported. !! SELECTING THIS MEANS YOU COULD GET A TAG WITH NO ARTIST/TITLE AND JUST A BPM !! * PCDJ uses BPM's multiplied by 100, so 123.45 bpm would be exported as 12345 if you selected this option. I'd recommend backing up your mp3's and doing a few little tests before running this new feature on all your mp3's. |

Alpha 31 released http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha31.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 * Bug fixes (occasional crash at startup issues). * Added Hash Fix Job. Both FS1.0 and this app keep track of files by using a hash of the first 100K of a file. This hash is only used when trying to match up moved or renamed files. Any changes to a file will cause a change to the hash value. Put simply this means that if you do operations on a file (inside or outside the box editor) then these links can be broken. In this version the links are 'fixed up' after every operation, but this was not true in previous versions. The new 'hash fix' Job ensures that the FSDB files contain the correct hashes for the current file version. My recomendation is that you run hash fix on all your files once, and then again if you've changed the files externally (by running mp3gain or editing a wav for example). Hash fixing is only needed if you plan on moving or renaming files, otherwise its not an issue. |

Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha30.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 Release Notes: Alpha 30 * Path check during startup. A few people were getting duplicate files in their master list and other strange behaviour when using certain filenames. This was a result of the way in which certain FAT32 paths can appear differently under windows and under linux. This happens fairly rarely. More details are below for the curious: The file of folder name must be in DOS 8.3 format and contain at least one uppercase character and no lowercase characters or spaces. These filenames are read as lowercase by the linux FAT32 driver. Most people will see no difference in this release, but it's recommended as it could avoid future problems. |

Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha29.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 Release Notes: Alpha 29 * Display GPL during install. * Bitrate info transfered to FSDB * Added option to disable remixer in name inference. * Removed tagging hint when auto-generating db entries for wavs. * Very small change to Auto-BPM code (is better for a few acapellas). * Option to include paths in name inference. * Expanded Error Reportings. * A Few small UI cleanups. * BPM selection As there's a few files that the BPM measurement gets wrong, there's now a little interface in the BPM debug dialog. Click on an alternative BPM to set it. As usual I'm interested in hearing about songs the app gets wrong. I plan to start a list at: http://finalscratch.sourceforge.net/BPM/knownbadsongs This feature was an experiment and I'm not 100% happy with the results. The changes this time were not so far-reaching. I'm away from my fs for a fortnight, so I didn't want to risk introducing bugs. Pete |

Apologies for the short inter-release delay, there was a fairly silly hang bug in version 27. Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha28.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 Release Notes: Alpha 28 * Fixed a stoopid bug that was causing lockups during name inference. (thanks to darien for finding this) * Added link to homepage. * Added link to paypal, so people can donate if they want to. Development is not dependant on donations. The donation link was just added because a few people were eager to show their appreciation with cash, and I'm not going to deny them the pleasure of giving me money :). |

There was only a few hours between 26+27 Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha27.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 Release Notes: Alpha 27 * Tag inference from filenames. TAG INFERENCE FROM FILENAMES Its fairly basic, just means you get something rather than nothing. As usual use a proper tagging app and then re-infer FSDB from ID3v2. Next is a virtual lock groove helper or a column in the master list showing which box a file is in. Alpha 26 * More case related fixes. The partial fix was causing issues for some people. * wav file support. * Added mapping for ID3v2 Key Signature. It gets put in the Producer field. * Multiple Instance intelligence. * Fixed bug with default startup job. By default, striping should happen at startup now. WAV FILE SUPPORT Wav Files playback and striping is now supported. Please note that as with the mp3 code, I've emulated FS's handling. So if a file won't load in this app, it won't work in fs. MULTIPLE INSTANCE INTELLIGENCE (work in progress) The easiest way to try this out is to hit Ctrl+I to get a new window, then use the function keys as normal. One window should stay as the master list whilst the other switches to other boxes. There's a load of options in the Preferences dialog to tweak the behaviour. Any feedback on this feature is most welcome. I'm not sure if its the best approach. |

Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha25.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 ChangeLog * Made the app more strict about case. Fixes the issue that duplicates could appear in the list if you changed the case of your tune's name or directories. * Fixed menu typo (ID3). * Fixed job descriptions. * Fixed delete button in startup Job list. * Added rotating splash screens. * Added legal gubbins in a few places. * Added startup key check. If you hold Shift+Ctrl down during startup the Paths dialog will appear. This is for people who are getting errors at startup. * Option to reformat BPM's read from ID3 tags. |

Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha24.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 ChangeLog * Added sMiLe's kick-ass bit resevoir fix! Re-encoding should be a thing of the past. * Made a change reccommended by the id3lib team that enables the reading of ID3v2.4 tags (from iTunes) |

Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha23.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 ChangeLog * Fixed 082 style BPM formatting. * Startup Jobs. * Fixed an error in the Tag reading code. I was using the id3lib incorrectly. This only affected files with a valid ID3v1 tag and zero padding at the beggining of the file. Unfortunately this is what you get if you use winamp to remove v2 tags. * Right click bring up jobs menu. * Option to clamp last digit of BPM to 0 or 5 * The App offers to create standard recordboxes if they don't exist * Registry option to disable sound (This is to increase stability under Wine.) Wine is a system that lets you run many windows apps (including this one) under linux. I had problems getting the stanton boxing app to run, so I've been playing with this app under Wine. |

File Location http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha22.exe?download https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 Release Notes * Added a Splash Screen (art needed). * Locates DB entries for renamed or moved mp3's. * Automatic search for new files and DB matchup at startup. * Reworked the UI a little. About 50% thru this, but other bits warranted a release. * More Tweaks to the BPM algo. FEEDBACK STILL WANTED!!. * Improved Genre reading. Blues instead of (0) etc. * A Job to retroactively fix Genre tags read by fs or older versions of this app (number)->Genre Name. * Remove Entries for missing files tool. * Warning box on Delete All. The next step is to add a Startup Jobs list. The idea is that after the current startup the app would go on to create DB entries, stripe (fixing as you liked) and whatever else you wanted (BPM/normalise stripes etc). I'll probably gather all the settings and options into one dialog when I do this. |

Alpha 21 Released http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha21.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 Changes * Fixed bug introduced when I introduced the Jobs Log (Main reason for this release). Thanks to StoneCut for finding it. Partially done moved file finding is also in. Not fully ready for prime-time, but its there for the adventurous (there's a job for moved files and a Master File List Tool that links up moved and renamed files). Tidy up is still to be done. I'm working towards the intelligent startup thing (i.e. moved, new and removed files are all handled sensibly). |

Download Link: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha20.exe?download http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 Release Notes: * Added Jobs Log. * Added BPM formatting options. * More stuff in the BPM debug view. * Everyone should get stuff in the right columns. * Added scaling for ID3v2 BPM's. * Small change in the BPM algorithm. * Changed date sorting. I'm still looking for feedback on the BPM stuff. I know I was going to tidy everything up, but its got pushed off a little by the Jobs Log. The Jobs log should help me diagnose more errors... |

Download link http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha19.exe?download try: http://finalscratch.sourceforge.net/ if that link is broken. Release Notes Alpha 19 * Fixed File Scan bug. * Added BPM measurement. * Added scaling for ID3v2 BPM's. * Auto Show and Hide of the jobs list. * Beat lines in the stripe view. A quick note on the BPM stuff. * It's working really well for me (better than I expected). * Feedback is important. If you get a song it gets wrong, please get in touch. * If your getting doubled or halved results Options->BPM measurement options will let you set a better range. TIP: use this to stripe your DnB box with a different range than your RnB box. * It needs stripes, so you'll have to have striped the files first. * It is REALLY fast. (I calculated the bpms for 250 files in 3-4 seconds). * The BPM measurement uses the stripes instead of the sound file, so results may be +- 0.5% or so. * There's a menu item in the stripe view where you can see a window filled with graphics related to the internals of the bpm algorithm. I can elaborate if desired. |

A new version of the Windows Final Scratch Record Box Editor is available. Alpha 18 http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/finalscratch/FinalScratchRecordBoxEdi torInstallerAlpha18.exe?download * ID3v1+2 tag reading. This is a very first version. Please try it on a few files and let me know how it goes. * Added StoneCut's notes to this readme. * Striping is slightly less robust! this is to make sure that if I stripe it fs can play it. A note on the player. It appears that whereas a dodgy frame during an mp3 is fine (as it should be), if the first frame is dodgy fs doesn't like it. I've done a little experiment and putting a good frame on the start seems to make it happy. (thanks to sMILe for the mp3's). I may automate this, but there's issues with mp3 frame types that could cause a glitch at song start. More as I find it out.... Known issues: * No artist title etc. inference from filename. I think I may side with recommending mp3 tag studio. Its free (has one static banner) and lets you infer tags from filenames. * BPM's from pcdj are x 100. Not sure what to do with these. * Job's list not stored on exit. If the above link fails, try: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=70378 |
