[Filterproxy-users] Proxy relaying

I was wondering if anyone had encountered my situation before.
I am tyring to get Apache's mod_proxy to proxy through filterproxy using

ProxyRemote http http://127.0.0.1:8888

But when I do It just hangs. I want to proxy a site without having to set up
a proxy server in my browser setup. I guess my question is, Is there any reason
why this shouldnt work? My thanks in advance.
