When testing in Windows, I found some issues when trying to decipher a file located in a path which contained non-ASCII characters in it. It is odd since I backuped files with such paths from Linux.

I opened the ticket [#6] to fix it when able to.

As promised, release 0.1.1 can be successfully run in windows (tested on XP). Check the wiki entry that describes the pre-requisites installation process.

I give it a try and checked if (as is) the code worked in windows. Sadly, I had no luck (not much of a surprise, since I didn't think much in making the code portable to Windows).

Nonetheless, I have been asked to fix the project so it can be used in that OS, so I will (try to) spend some time fixing the non-portable parts.

I created the Files Cloud Backuper program to be able to back up all my files easily in a mail server. The point was that there are some mail accounts that allow me to store greats amounts of information and, differently from conventional storage services, for free.

I couldn't find any free (as in beer) program that allowed me to do this, so I created it myself. I decided to share it for free (as in beer and freedom) so anyone that may find it useful can use it and give me feedback about it (and also, if willing, can improve it).... read more
