Matthew-- I just relaized that the "Reply To:" address for the filecaddy-general lis= t is the originator of the message, NOT the list itself=2E Can you look int= o this? Also, after some further investigation to the feature request, it also appears that you can only "scroll by alphabet" once per directory (e=2Eg=2E= , if you "type" uppercase F to locate FileCaddy, you cannot then "type" uppercase V to locate VHSHelper)=2E Is it possible that this could be changed in the future? Unfortunately, SourceForge has a big philosophical problem with changing the "Reply-To" header on mailing list messages (they *strongly* believe it should be left so replies go to the message sender instead of changing so replies go to the list). As a result, they don't provide any way to change that behavior. Countless people (myself included) have complained but SourceForge is quite determined to keep it the way it is. > Also, after some further investigation to the feature request, it also > appears that you can only "scroll by alphabet" once per directory (e.g., if > you "type" uppercase F to locate FileCaddy, you cannot then "type" > uppercase V to locate VHSHelper). So for example, you could enter "F" to locate FileCaddy then if you entered "backspace" and then "V" you'd find VFSHelper. I haven't looked to see if that behavior has been retained in FileCaddy but you might want to try and see :) -- Dave Kessler President - Kopsis, Inc. http://kopsisengineering.com |

Sourceforge may not want to change this, but it seems I have not been having trouble... my e-mail client can tell if a message has been sent to a list and I'm given four options, instead of the regular three when choosing to reply: Reply to Sender, Reply to List, Reply to All, and Forward Message. E-mail clients may vary. > FAFileMover would allow you to "backspace" to clear out your current > typedown. Added to the feature request list are yet more preferences: Backspace to clear typedown buffer (otherwise only searches for first letter), Case sensitive typedown search (default off)... the structure is getting bloody big, and the Preferences dialog is already full :D ... but features are good. You should also find that the typedown is "cumulative". For example, if you enter "M" you'll be taken to the first file that starts with "M". If you follow that with "e", you'll be taken to the first file that starts with "Me" (and so on). In cases where you have a lot of files that start with the same letter, that makes it easier to get to the one you want (assuming you know its name). -- - Dave Kessler President - Kopsis, Inc. http://kopsisengineering.com On Thu, Jul 25, 2002 at 02:06:01PM -0400, vis...@ea... wrote: > Dave-- > > You are correct -- as usual!
