Bruce-- I use the "typedown" function in FileCaddy as well as many other Palm applications. I found FileCaddy's implementation to be confusing at first because it was non-standard -- typically (i.e., in other Palm OS applications that I have used), typedown is implemented as case-insensitive, first letter only as opposed to FileCaddy's case-sensitive, "cumulative" approach. When attempting to locate a file on my device, I do not necessarily know the case that the developer chose to use: * most (but not all...) application names begin with an uppercase letter * many PQAs begin with a lowercase letter * system files and databases can begin with either upper- or lowercase I was simply letting Dave and Matthew know that the change made for this release does not work as advertised... Once I'm done with getting into Colledge, and am done getting some money to my name, I'll add it as yet another optional extra. Default will be "Case-insensitive, first-letter only." But you'll be able to choose a variety of options there. What other features do people want changed, or added? -- Matthew (Darkstorm) Bevan mb...@ma... Why, you ask? Why not? The question should be, "How can I check the results?" |

Please consider adding wildcards to file selections. For example, I use the Magellan Map Companion application, which was bundled with Magellan GPS Companion (GPS receiver for the Visor). The data files for the application are named "MagellanDB...", where "..." is is a 20-digit number (possibly some sort of coordinate?). A single county can require twenty (or more!) of these files -- the Palm filenames do not indicate a town, city, or county as the .prc files do. In order to load a new area into RAM, I need to delete the currently loaded files -- I just selected 43 files one at a time in order to delete three Upstate NY counties (Oneida County alone requires 23 files...). I would like to be able to enter a string such as "Mag*" to select all of the Map Companion data files for deletion (or any other operation) from RAM. This could be added as an additional option under the "Select" button, where "Select All", "Select None", and "Invert Selection" are the current options.
