Hi. I've just had OFB installed on our server and we are beginning to use it. So far, I love how simple it is to use.
My question is whether or not users can manage their own properties somehow (i.e. new user sign up, changing user password, etc.)? If this is possible, can you please let me now how?
Thanks!
Rachel

in the current version this is unfortunately not possible.
Currently the focus of OFB lies on the administration of files and directories.
Therefore there is only a basic functionality for user management
(see conf/users.properties).
It seems to me that one of the main goals of OFB is to keep
the tool simple for users. Therefore only core funtionality
has been implemented. Additional functionality, such as
user management or preferences administration would make
OFB more a Content Management System than a file browser
and make the development far more complicated.
Questions to Marek:
What do you think about such functionality?
Is there a roadmap for OFB?
Thanks,
Mick.

In general, just like you wrote, management of users can be done manually be changing conf/users.properties file. I don’t think that this kind of functionality is essential at the moment. Main goal of Online File Browser is to be great browser and here are still lots of things to do. Hence functionality, which is not strictly related with browsing, doesn’t have high priority for me.
However, if there is someone who has different opinion and would like to contribute then such venture is welcome and I would do my best to help.
In terms of roadmap, there is no such thing. That’s mainly because development is driven by community feature requests. There are still many interesting ideas not implemented ... but unfortunately recently it’s difficult for me to find time for that. :(
