Hi,

It would be helpful to me and possibly others if you could add or subtract from the current date to create a new date, like what is done with numbering, so I could rename files like the following:

001.tif renamed to 2007-01-02.tif (add 7 days)
002.tif renamed to 2007-01-09.tif (add 7 days)
003.tif renamed to 2007-01-16.tif ...

I am currently having to rename a large number of tif files from periodicals that are issued every week, or every month, etc. and would like to easily scan them and then rename them by auto generating the filenames.

Thanks for a great product so far.

    Hey,

This could be possible as an additional numbering parameter ... however it doesn't really follow the way the rest of the numbering system works (internaly) so would require some effort.

Is this something that could be achieved by getting the date from the file itself?

    Thanks

    Ianare,

The current file's date won't work as I am trying to include the publication date as part of the filename, not the file creation date. I am scanning periodicals from the last hundred years or so. So a more appropriate example would be the following:

    001.tif renamed to ST19450102.tif (add 7 days)
    002.tif renamed to ST19450109.tif (add 7 days)
    003.tif renamed to ST19450116.tif ...

Where ST is the abbreviation for the periodical, and the date is in the YYYYMMDD format.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    Joshua

OK, I understand better now. This could be pretty useful, I'll look into adding it to the numbering panel.
