No

Working in QD Vanilla with a MPG movie
entitled Dadron and Phurdron, I hit play in the middle
and it played for about 6-12 seconds without sound and
then video also stopped playing even though slider bar
continued before sound and video finally worked
properly. This happened repeatedly.

I forgot to say:

To reproduce the problem, go to File-New on the QD menu
bar, and then select an .mpeg file. This problem may occur
more often with mpegs that are at least 1-2 minutes long. (I
say this because I tried a 20-30 second video and didn't have
any problems.)

The problem: In JMF QD, with an MPEG-1 video, if you press
play using the play/pause icon on the JMF slider, the video
often doesn't change and/or there is no sound for several
seconds, although the slider bar continues to progress as if
it's still playing, and eventually it usually does.

I added a "Play/Pause" button under the "Play
Segment"
button in QD. This button works as expected, which shows
that the bug only afflicts the slider controls.

Solution: we need to intercept the play/pause widget controls
and handle them ourselves somehow.

Workaround: abandon the slider that JMF provides, and
create our own.

Another note. Also at some point just the video window
appears and nothing else of QD so you have to force close it.
This has happened multiple times now. There is something
very wrong with QD Vanilla for JMF usasges. It just doesn't
work with the slighest use.

Ps this is on Windows XP. Then it did this - bar moving
across but no sound or change in video and the whole
progrtam crashed. It appeaers that Quilldriver Vanilla is not
stable for JMP either. I thought we had achieved stability
with QD playback but at this point it does not seem QD
vanilla works stably for JMF either. All I was doing was
creating a few time codes.
