#29 0.9.7pre (CVS): uploads don't complete

Only sometimes, but with many servers, I've found that
a (resumed) upload doesn't complete: the file on the
remote server is shorter by a small (variable) amount
of bytes, and resuming it doesn't help.

Example:

File on my disk : 119359488
File on server : 119359130

This happens always with some servers (for large files
at least) very seldom with others.

Resuming upload with fidelio does NOT complete the
file.
Resuming the upload using Hotline Windows works, and
the file is completed (and noncorrupt).

I've tried to increase the size of the files to upload
(adding some ascii "0" at the end of the file): the UL
progresses, but won't complete even after increasing
the file size of 5k.

I'm available to perform some tests if you need.

Ciao,
Roberto.

I've observed the same problem with fidelio 0.9.6
connecting to certain servers. It seems to be more common
when connecting to a newer pc-based server, but I'm not
sure I've tried enough servers to see a complete pattern.

I'm feeling very stupid for having failed to try this
    before, however...

Yesterday I had the problem again, but while trying to
upload the file on the server repeatedly, Fidelio crashed
(usual GTK bug, I'd say... I've seen this in a lot of GTK
apps, at least while running KDE).

    I then restarted Fidelio and tried to complete the upload:;
it worked. I'd say there's some variable (counter, filesize,
etc) that doesn't get resetted and causes problems (just
like the Patriot targeting system... ;-)

Hope this will help more than the previous messages... ;-)

    Ciao,
    Roberto

This is happening to me without resumed uploads, on the
    Debian package of Fidelio 0.9.6.

i've seen this too. It seemed to happen only in some
    directories
on some servers. I'd say it's just a server bug, but you
    never know.

I'm having this same problem, even with CVS as of 10/19/2002.

The server I'm having problems with is the Windows 1.8.5,
    running on WinXP...
