1) Allow use of bitmap fonts.
2) Allow each syntax highlighting category to specify
its own background color.
3) Add additional syntax highlighting categories
to C/C++ for floating point, hexadecimal, and octal
numbers.
4) Allow highlighting colors (foreground and
background) to be selected.
5) Allow the caret/cursor to have a selectable style
(bar vs. underscore vs. block, etc.) for both insert
and overwrite modes.
