Could you please run ffado-diag and post the output to the list? This will give us a clear idea of how your system is configured and perhaps spot anything odd. > I did the step by step > installlation<http://subversion.ffado.org/wiki/StepByStepUbuntu12.04>, > and it was working just fine, for 2 weeks.. but since I moved computer from > one place to another...I am having thoses xruns, That is unexpected. I saw your later response to Stefan about the possibility of there being some system updates though, so that might be a clue. > even if I just start jack and don't process any audio... Once jackd has started it is sending and receiving a full compliment of channels to and from the device no matter what audio applications you might have running. If there are no playbacks happening jackd sends 0 (silence). If there are no recorders active the incoming audio data is just junked. However, the key point is that audio is streaming between the PC and the audio interface at all times that jackd is running. This explains why you can get xruns even without any audio applications running. > I dont need to tweak the system for a real time latency. but even in RT > mode I am having thoses xruns... Can you please also give us your jackd command line (if that's what you're using) or the jackd settings you are using in qjackctl? > here is the output of jack when having a Xrun > : These are higher level jackd errors. We can't infer much from that at this stage. We'll deal with activating debug output from FFADO if it proves necessary later on. > FFado version is* libffado2 2.1.0+svn2240-1ubuntu2* This revision is now very old: it dates from 30 Sept 2012. There has been signficant work done on the RME driver since that time. For the moment we'll leave this as an observation since clearly it *used* to work on your system, but if further information doesn't lead anywhere obvious we might have to arrange for you to update FFADO to something more recent. > Jack version is *0.3.10* I think this might be your qjackctl version. Jackd versions will either be something like 0.124.* or 1.9.*. FYI you can find out jackd's version simply by running "jackd --version" on the command line. However, since ffado-diag includes this information you don't need to do this separately at this stage. Regards jonathan |
