marbo sent a message using the contact form at http://www.ffado.org/?q=contact. I can't run Jack with ALSA or Firewire drivers. The problem should be with D-Bus server (I'm a newbie). The problems are there with or without my Audiofire 12 connected (you list it as "full support"). When I plug it, the light 1394 on the card switches on, so I think a sort of communication shoul be established. Some informations (audiocard unplugged): ffado-test Discover //----------------------------------------------- //FFADO test and diagnostic utility //Part of the FFADO project -- www.ffado.org //Version: 2.1.9999- //(C) 2008, Daniel Wagner, Pieter Palmers //This program comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. //----------------------------------------------- // //1375187904043324: Fatal (devicemanager.cpp)[ 191] initialize: No firewire adapters (ports) found. //Could not initialize device manager /no message buffer overruns ffado-test ListDevices //----------------------------------------------- //FFADO test and diagnostic utility //Part of the FFADO project -- www.ffado.org //Version: 2.1.9999- //(C) 2008, Daniel Wagner, Pieter Palmers //This program comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. //----------------------------------------------- // //no message buffer overruns dmesg | grep firewire [ 1.821569] firewire_ohci 0000:02:0a.0: added OHCI v1.10 device as card 0, 4 IR + 8 IT contexts, quirks 0x11 [ 2.323200] firewire_core 0000:02:0a.0: created device fw0: GUID 00110666455589a8, S400 [ 18.660176] Modules linked in: vesafb snd_wavefront rfcomm bnep snd_cs4236 radeon bluetooth snd_opl3_lib snd_hwdep snd_wss_lib snd_intel8x0 snd_ac97_codec ac97_bus snd_mpu401 snd_pcm snd_mpu401_uart ttm ppdev snd_page_alloc binfmt_misc snd_seq_midi drm_kms_helper snd_seq_midi_event pegasus microcode drm snd_seq snd_rawmidi snd_timer i2c_algo_bit ns558 snd_seq_device gameport snd parport_pc lpc_ich serio_raw mac_hid shpchp soundcore lp parport hid_generic usbhid hid firewire_ohci firewire_core floppy crc_itu_t ffado-diag FFADO diagnostic utility 2.1.9999- ============================ (C) 2008 Pieter Palmers 2009-2010 Arnold Krille === CHECK === Base system... kernel version............ 3.8.0-27-lowlatency Preempt (low latency)... If running a kernel earlier than 2.6.37 and problems are experienced, either try with the old Firewire kernel stack or upgrade to a newer kernel (preferrably 2.6.37 or later). Same results with audiocard plugged in. Hope someone can help me. I installed UBUNTU STUDIO 13 convinced that everything I needed was in place and knowing there are a lot skilled people working for it. Thank you in advance. marbo |
