Fez 2.1 RC1 released!

The Fez Development Team is pleased to announce the release of Fez 2.1 (RC1). This release supports Fedora 2.2.x - including Fedora 2.2.4. Roughly 12 months of new functionality has gone into this release. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Complete graphical user interface overhaul
  • Apache Solr support for faster browsing & searching - easily handles 100,000+ objects
  • Search faceting and full-text document search
  • New controlled vocabularies, including SEO 2008, and Fields of Research (FOR)
  • EXIF tool integration
  • Origami image viewer for easy image inspection
  • Session database support
  • Lots of new workflows
  • Refined content models
  • Custom views support
  • Performance tweaks and bug fixes
  • Major clean-up of templates, CSS, and AJAX components
  • New display modes, including image gallery
  • Ad-hoc SQL engine for running workflows on arbitrary groups of records
  • ORCA feed support
