[Fetchmail-users] OAuth2 Configuration Question

I am in the process of configuring fetchmail 7 for gmail's OAuth2. The 
documentation mentions configuring postfix. Since I am using fetchmail 
to only retrieve gmail, am I correct that I can ignore the postfix 
instructions? I don't see what postfix has to do with reading gmail.
