Don't wait on me Mathias, I've not used fetchmail.conf in a decade +.
I read the man page and use geany on .fetchmailrc. Other than no 
timestamp on the incoming mails fetchmail.log, because the patch you 
gave me was lost in an update, 6.4.17 is working quite well for me. IMO, 
that patch should have gone into mainline.
