Drawing board time.   The binary actually resides in /usr/local/bin/ despite what the conf showed at first casual glance.

There is an issue with the 32bit machine refusing to run the binary, which might relate to being compiled on a purpose built 
64 bit machine.  No good deed goes unpunished.
