I hadn't heard of Kannada before.  For others on the list like me: it's
one of the `scheduled languages of India', with over 40 million native
speakers.

Have you a missing `"' to end the `folder's parameter?
fetchmail(1)'s description of `Run Control Syntax' suggests it could be
an unquoted string without any `"' at all.
