If updating isn't an option, then shutting down is.

a) If you don't control the system, you can't run YUM anyways, so this
   argument is void.

b) Fedora Core 8 is not getting YUM updates anyways, so no point in
   sticking to whatever RPM shipped in early 2009.

   Support for FC8 was discontinued in January 2009; the barndoor-sized
   security holes have been wide open for just as long.

Nowhere, unless the ISP cooperates, changes its setup, and adds required
headers. See the home.pages.de link from my previous mail.

In the example message you posted, there is no header that would convey
the envelope recipient.  Until that is in place, there is no way forward
for you, you can only use singledrop with that mailbox.
