Without knowing the version of fetchmail, contents of .fetchmailrc and
the full contents of the diagnostic output (see the FAQ) it's hard to
say for certain what the error is.

Assuming you're running 6.3.8 then it's most likely a fault with the
implementation of IDLE for the remote IMAP server.
