  Thanks for pointing that out.  I scanned right past it and didn't think of the significance.  I ran 'ps aux'|grep sendmail couldn't find a version running on this test computer.  Ran 'ps aux'|grep postfix and found a running daemon.  So now I'm really confused.  When I run fetchmail I'm seeing nothing in my logs maillog or messages.  I guess I'll run a packet sniffer (just to double check), and recheck my postfix configuration.
