[fetchmail-users] forcing a fetch cycle.

Lets say one is waiting for a critical email and is impatient to wait for the assigned cycle time.

Is there a polite way to "do it now"?  

When I did a "fetchmail" at a console screen, it told me it was awakened.  Will that force a cycle?
