Dear Rob, I'm using oracle email server. It returns errors such as : 5.6.0: NULs not allowed or 5.5.1: unrecognized command, before it drops the connection, but fetchmail doesn't catch the error codes. You *MUST* configure the MTA to provide an error code - simply dropping the connection is the wrong behaviour.
