Hello. I wrote a web page fragment entitled "Configuring your incoming email client: fetchmail" with the intent of submitting it for inclusion on the Gmail Help Center's POP section at <http://mail.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=194>. The Gmail Help Center currently lacks such an item and fetchmail configuration can be more involved than that of other email clients, especially when OpenSSL configuration is taken into full account. So far, I have simply been brushed off by the "Gmail Team" <gma...@go...> with a generic scripted answer stating that I wouldn't receive a direct human response, at the point when I hadn't even yet submitted my HTML code. This situation might change (as this is a typical level-1 response from a help-desk), but in the mean time, would you be interested in this content? The idea would be to turn it into a "How can I use fetchmail with Gmail's POP3 servers?" fetchmail FAQ answer. I am attaching my original "gmail-pop-howto.html" file to this email message for your consideration. Thanks. |
