That's the first I've seen about your machine having only an IPv6 address
and no ipv4 address besides 127.0.0.1.
The version to be released soon has a lot of IPv6 changes (fixes), so I'd
suggest you try the latest release candidate (currently 6.2.9-rc6) and
see if that works any better for you using Gentoo's
recommended /etc/hosts configuration (i.e. without your machine name on
the 127.0.0.1 line).
