I am the maintainer of the FreeBSD port. I've just received a patch that
seems to resolve this issue. I've forwarded it to the authors for review
but you might want to try it.
Just put the attached file into your mail/fetchmail/files directory and
rebuild.
P.S.: I am not subscribed to fetchmail-users, I just had a look at the
archives because I wanted to see if this was a known issue.
