&lt;p&gt;You can use the attached bash script to finalize a document in a loop. Just enter the paths to your files. It will finalize your document every 10 seconds, convert it to pdf and display it with evince. You will need to install unoconv (with synaptic sudo apt-get install unoconv). You can pass a numeric argument to tell it how long it should wait between updating the pdf-file.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I usually keep the loop running on one workspace, while writing on the other, so the refreshed PDF does not bother me.
