I wouldn't do custom versions of FeedReader. Just the possibility to import a list of feeds when it is started the first time. However this is done. For the skinning: i don't see much room within the window. Plus i don't need it ;). The only places where you can use a different skin are: - the menu, - the toolbar, - the statusbar.
