Hi all. I want to change the way the translation strings are stored. Actually they are stored in xml files and get parsed at startup. If there are special characters in the file, the parser dies and the translation fails. The conversion utility i wrote fails for languages which doesn't use the latin characterset. I want to change this to simple ini style files so that the user can use a simple editor, enter their translation for a string and saves the file. There would be no conversion needed, the files can be used as they come. E.g.: Update=Aktualisieren Search=Suche The only thing is to watch out that the original string doesn't contain a '='. If so it should be encoded. At the moment we doesn't have such a string :) . This would make translating Feedreader to other language very much easier and it's a change which is only a technical one. At the moment we have to change all translation files anyway as we have new strings. Greetings, Karsten |
