I'm trying to synchronize just a bit and close feedreader just after a
little reading to avoid the crash. It seems a little bit as if ending the
programm interferes with 'stop getting feeds'.

Perhaps a 'Stop getting feeds' would be possible?
I have looked for this on other occasion - I constantly hit 'get feeds'
instead of current feed (told you, f5 is for updating one feed, not every
feed ...) and I don't want to wait for all feeds to synchronize just to get
this special one updated :o))
