Hi there,

As it would be cool to get rid of the ****** IE and it's popup's etc I did some testing with the Gekko-ActiveX control. It seems to be straight forward to replace the IE control. But I am not quite sure what is needed to ship to enduseres to get things work. Somewhere it was written that one have to install Mozilla. That would not be that nice. Shipping gekko with Feedreader will also increase the installer size by a few megs (at least 3-4 megs). Do you think this is a big issue?

Will try to replace the IE control with the Gekko control and see whether I get it work anyway.

Hello!

First let's try to get it to work :).

After this we have possibility to offer users two packages. One with IE 
and another with Gecko.

Another possibility is to use IE by default and if Gecko is installed 
then use Gecko (this gecko use should be configurable).

I prefer Gecko :).

If you just want the Gecko engine without installing the browser you
can get that here:

http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/mozilla.htm

It just provides you the Mozilla ActiveX control specifically for
embedded browser development like we are doing.

I am not much of a programmer but firefox / kmeleon just use the browser
engine. At least kmeleon was very small if i remember correctly.
