What about: http://www.feedreader.com/node.php?id=366 I'm willing to do a custom installset for him, when the new version is ready, if no one has any doubts. Karsten |

Some other persons wanted this kind of thing, too. I have thought about two possibilities (or both at the same time). 1) IF there ise importfeeds.xml file in the feedreader directory and no feeds.xml file (feedreader is installed and not started yet) then feedreader should use this file to import some feeds for user. So all we need is customised install package and no customised Feedreader version for this thing. 2) Another possibility is to develop a special command line option for url, from where feedreader should import feeds first time. This is good for portals and stuff. Again this can be customised in install package and no source customisation is necesary. Another thing is with different colors and stuff... About this we should think a little bit more... I wouldn't do custom versions of FeedReader. Just the possibility to import a list of feeds when it is started the first time. However this is done. For the skinning: i don't see much room within the window. Plus i don't need it ;). The only places where you can use a different skin are: - the menu, - the toolbar, - the statusbar. So the question is: Do we want/need skinning? Is it worth the effort? Isn't it just bloat? Karsten Toomas Toots wrote: > Some other persons wanted this kind of thing, too. IT IS BLOAT :) (my thoughts go to winamp 3 ;)) Of course i really do not that it could not be done. Only it has little priorities in our team. If somehow we cat team member who has decent skinning component and want's to lead the skinning subproject, i'm not against but at the moment this is not this way. And even if feedreader has skinning support, there should be possibility to disable it if user does not want it. Toomas > > Do we want/need skinning? Is it worth the effort?
