[Feedreader-development] Announcements on website

Hi,

could we add something about a newer version on the mainpage? The new
versions are pretty stable for me (i was off some days and do have 621
here) and upload one version to sourceforge? :o)

Hi,

welcome back :).

I must admit that i did nothing to FeedReader in the last few days ;).

I hope i can put some work in it today.
I'm not happy with the state it is at the moment. Following things i 
will enhance before calling it ready for a release:

-saving/restoring of form position (never ending story)
-OPML-forms need beautifying
-OPML export doesn't work for me
-maybe change the way translations are handled
-do one change to the internal creation of the EmbeddedWB content
  (fix for opening the wrong url when opening in new window from
   newsoverview)

I hope i can make this changes until end of the week.
But i can't post on the website or put a new version on sourceforge 
anyway :). I', just a small developer ;)

 From my side I will try to work with OPML stuff. I hope it will be 
ready in workweek end.

let's just try 
- to have a new beta out on the newsflahs
- and make a stable version which can have a new number.

remember, we don't have to sell copies. we can update more often,
especially with betas :))

Not really. (Is this  z-bug away?)
most of the time you want to do import - export seems lower on priority.

iirc: the new version has so many advantages to the last official release
if I see so, that we should realese now and make a new version later.

after all, this is not payware. but if people go away from feedreader
because they want to buy feeddemon, it is unlikely they come back.

let's test after this bug has gone with add feed, let's retest import
opmlfiles (didn't work here) and then lets release a new build with the
comment, that we are working hard on the opml thing. if import won't work:
without opml at the moment.

how about that?


karsten, btw can't you upload ready beta builds to sourceforge?

What z-bug do you mean?
If the export option in FeedReader is visible, then it should work.
If we won't have export in the next release, then don't offer this option.

One thing i want to add is changing the way the tranlation is done.
The idea using xml files is good, but doesn't work with all languages.
What i want to use is simple inifiles. Left side english text, right 
side translation, e.g. 'Open Window=Fenster öffnen'.
This is not much work, i think i could finish it today.
Since we need new translations anyway, why not do it now? Saves work later.

You can't use z in the browser focus when typing comments - so i have
heard. (I never ready in FR so I can't tell)

Fine. I made this change yesterday, but it is not in cvs yet.
I will commit it today and make a new build.
The translation template is done, so is the german translation.
I don't know how far the OPML import/export is already in this files, 
need to check it.

If I try to click the underlines www.feadreader.com on splash screen,
nothing happens (it is a link, right?) might be because I have to many
feeds :o))

I should read the changes.txt more often ;o)

Does not start at first unread message, seems to use the last known message
from the last run of fr. You have to click into the message view (doesn't
matter if read or unread message) to 'start from here'

In the new version from today, pressing space results in 'jump to next
unread message and set focus on browser' :o( worked great before.

the todo.txt could be deleted :o)

Is it possible to (lower priority, after next release)
- have  count on all unread messages at 'My feeds'? Would be interesting
how much you can read in a time :o)
- have an context option on my feed "Collapse all"? Expand all does work in
the windows way with shift + * (the one on numlock)

new feed wizard has no cancel button on last dialog.
