Hi all. I made a small adjustment to form saving/restoring. Build 622 (www.khoffrath.de/feedreader/feedreader_622.zip) Build 623 (www.khoffrath.de/feedreader/feedreader_623.zip) Both builds are equal except one thing: Build 622 restores the windowposition and -size correctly no matter if the window was maximized, minimized or normal at shutdown. This comes with the price of a short flickering at program startup. Build 623 restores the window size not correctly under the following circumstances: The window was maximized at shutdown. When the program is restarted and the window is restored to normal state, the size is correct, but the position is in the screen center. So please vote for the preferred method Greetings, Karsten P.S. I noticed, that both files have build no 622. The file feedreader_623.zip is the one with the uncomplete startup functionality ;). |

I think Feedreader should startu up without flickering. Of course it's better to save maximized/normalized state for user but this flickering is so unnormal :). Another thing is if i click on trayicon. Last public version behaved correctly no matter if form was restored or mazimized before hiding to tray. But at the moment it flicker if it was maximized. We should revert this back? Greetings Toomas Karsten Hoffrath wrote: > > So please vote for the preferred method > > Greetings, > Karsten > |

There is a new option which describes what happens if you click with the left mouse button on the icon: show normal or maximized. This flickering occurs just the first time the window is shown. > We should revert this back? > It is not in cvs, so reverting is not a problem. This evening i will try a new version of the CoolTrayIcon component, cross your fingers ;) Karsten |

But why we need option for this? Isn't it normal if feedreader will get the state it had before hidding? I think that to many options are not definetly good. Feedreader should be simple even for dumb user. And if we really need some finetuning options we should make new preferences tab "Advanced" Toomas > > There is a new option which describes what happens if you click with > the left mouse button on the icon: show normal or maximized. > This flickering occurs just the first time the window is shown. > |

And if we really need some finetuning >options we should make new preferences tab "Advanced" And make an Tab 'things every normal windows programm should do but we had to build it up seperate cause this is delphi' ;o))) But for an pascal programm, the gui-handling of FR is really good *gg* ;o) Nicole -- http://www.useful-sounds.de/ - http://beissholz.de |

If said minimized, it is brought to systray If said maximized, it opens maximized. I appreciate the efforts to make a build around like this or settings in properties of FR but it does not solve the problem. The settings for the icon to start fr *have* to have priority. I have not have the time to test the new versions, could take some days but I will give feedback soon. :o) Nicole -- http://www.useful-sounds.de/ - http://beissholz.de |

I need the space for the regular build. Karsten |

Whatever is done in FR at startup, I expect Delphi to be the reason of trouble. I asume that Languages from MS do recognize the information at start from the porperties of the icon better and Delphi fails - so we have this mess. >Can i delete the two builds? I need the space for the regular build. tsts so few space? ;o) if you think I should take a look at these two to compare, please send them to nicole.simon at web.de. where I can fetch them later today without running out of quota @gnak. thx Nicole -- http://www.useful-sounds.de/ - http://beissholz.de |

> > Whatever is done in FR at startup, I expect Delphi to be the reason of > trouble. The flickering is fixed and window positions correctly saved and restored. Please test just this version, should be ok now. Karsten |
