Hi everybody :o) With 50 new feeds to be added I was getting grumpy on this not working "add feed" thing. I tracked it down: If I delete my toolbarsettings.bin, several errors disappear! 616 still ignored programm property setting "Open maximized". Flickers and then minimizes in a little bar at the top of taskbar. Doubleclick on title bar leads to resized status, again dblclick finally maximizes. 'add new feed' ist broken. If I reopen my feeds with 610, there is no problem adding feeds. I erased all files (except Toolbarsettings.bin / Feedreader.ini) to check whether a maximum was reached but even with no feeds in it there is no difference. erased toolbarsettings.bin: FR starts resized modus, then maximizes automaticly as it should do. Add Feed works again. btw I just changed the toolbar once - at the start to get the buttons I want. I would asume that all this updates on graphical things infects somehow the toolbar. Toomas / Karsten, anyone likes my file? ;o) Nicole -- http://www.useful-sounds.de/ - http://beissholz.de |

Happy new year to everyone :o) Karsten Hoffrath <mai...@kh...> wrote: >So all errors are gone or are there still some? I would not say that all errors are gone ;o) hm. I have started the new version for 2-3 times. All was good. Now on your mail to check, I opened again and look what - some are back. :o( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * instead of maximazing on opening, it is this little titlebar in the left corner again. I would suspekt - from my basic understanding of how feedreader might be programmed - this: - fr checks after opening the setting 'start minimized on startup' - this is not checked in my settings - he then *does* a minimize, not to systray but this looks like a minimize, although he should just leave the window state alone Not that annoying but perhaps it helps: If I minimize it to systray and it reopens, it does not just maximized, it does first to 'resized' and then to maximized. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * the 'double row toolbar' is back again I did a change on my toolbar setting to adapt it to my wishes. - tested "add a feed" to see if this is still working: yes - added one feed - clicked it on treeview - double toolbar disapears without me doing something Whatever you do when I click a treeview, it obviously resets something for the toolbar to make it right. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ * roll up / down when marking all read There ist a quick flashing (press button - white - headlines back again mark as read) but the 'roll up and down' thing is not there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rest seems okay BUT: I had this problem with double toolbar for some time and then suddenly the "add feed" did not work anymore. I do know have a new toolbar.bin and it might reoccur again. I would start adding some of my new feeds to see if I get a problem again - is any new version on start or should I start with 616? :o) Nicole -- http://www.useful-sounds.de/ - http://beissholz.de |

And when you restart FR, the window is minimized in the left corner just over the "Start" button? > > Not that annoying but perhaps it helps: > If I minimize it to systray and it reopens, it does not just maximized, it > does first to 'resized' and then to maximized. I love this magical things. Karsten Hoffrath <mai...@kh...> wrote: >So you doesn't have checked "start minimized", ack. but 'minimize to systray' is checked. Closed FR from fullscreen: Next time starting FR results in max mode. to be correct: 'seems to open in resized mode but then by itself maximizes without me doing siomething. (but you can see this step inbetween) closed FR from systray icon minimized in the left corner just over the "Start" button. So FR does the minimizing by itself but on start it should only do two things: 1. if "minimized to systray" is set: do it. 2. resize to last position known but respect the setting off the icon. even the idiotic ie can be forced to open in fullscreen if this is set. >> Not that annoying but perhaps it helps: >> If I minimize it to systray and it reopens, it does not just maximized, it >> does first to 'resized' and then to maximized. > >Everytime you show the window again or just the first time you maximize >the window after a complete restart of FR? everytime. if i close in fullscreen mode an start it again and everytime i doubleclick on the systray icon and I do maximize from the systray icon FR does the double-step-maximize. (this is different from the one with the maximize-over-startbutton: there *I* have to doubleclick. ) >I love this magical things. I can't think of something which touches the >toolbar when you click in the treeview. see. the joy of programming. :o) must be a sidething we don't get the connection yet. i don't know if you remember the thing with compaq computers. sometime, if you do anything, you get the message 'can't save to disk a:' which had nothing to do with what you did. solution: exclude a part of the memory from 640k-1024k because. if you didn't the somehow from the computer expected to be reserved memory for discaccess did this strange thing. >I think this is just because of the amount of headlines you have stored >in this feed. 50 should not be to much for our little toy :o)) >No new version today, maybe tomorrow. then you have a few days rest cause I will be on vacation ;o)) Nicole -- http://www.useful-sounds.de/ - http://beissholz.de |
