Hi List, some updates to FeedReader: 09.12.2003 khoffrath The XML files that hold the translations must not have characters like ä, ü, é, etc. If they do, reading the file will result in a TDomParser exception and FeedReader will not get translated. To overcome this issue the characters must be encoded in the translation file. At runtime this characters has to be reconverted before they are used in the program. The actual translation files that are online aren't converted so they will not work! All captions, texts, listitems, actions, etc. get translated now. New directory "Translations" created, which holds the actual translation files. There is a template file which holds all english strings that are used at this time. The german translation is ready and working. If new translations are created the files have to be converted with the programm "Encode2HTML.exe" which is in the new directory "Translationtools". We should consider to put the new translation template online so that the new translations are there when the next release is ready. I'll continue with the following issues: feedreader.com-Forum: opening popups in new browser window This goes first, but will result in a changed translation file, so wait until this is finished before putting the translation file online. 852578 memorize window size [ feedreader-Bugs-853907 ] Missing
breaks v2.5 b610 Regards, Karsten (khoffrath) |

As I'm the author of this translation engine, I changed translation=20 downloading a little bit. Karsten, can you please test translation=20 downloading now and tell me is it ok now or not :) Also I must input new strings to translation engine. Hi Toomas. I downloaded the german translation file. Feedreader is now translated, but some words are missing (in the xml file). In cvs you'll find an updated german translation which holds all strings that are used in the current cvs version. I don't seem to be capable of downloading the pure file itself or should entries look like this?

? I don't want to check something on errors which are not there in the real file. [Karsten, would you mind sending me (not! the group) the file?] Haven't looked deep, two things: You have checked, that all shortcuts (N&ew) etc are only set once? I disagree with the translation from headlines to Schlagzeilen - it is a word by word translation but feed-headlines are no headlines on the front page of a magazin. I would suggest Überschriften or even let headlines be headlines - you haven't changed feed into Einspeisung or else ;o) Nicole -- http://www.useful-sounds.de/ - http://beissholz.de |

Just downloaded the file. This line looks in my file like:

This is the file that holds the german translation. As you can see there is always an english string ("Delete folder"). Don't change this! Change the string after "translated". If you enter characters like ä, ü, -, etc. then this characters have to be converted to their xml codes, otherwise the translation will fail. In the repository is a programm that can do this. > > I don't want to check something on errors which are not there in the real > file. But you need the latest Feedreader version to take full use of this file (see my other mail, can i send it to you?). > Haven't looked deep, two things: > You have checked, that all shortcuts (N&ew) etc are only set once? > Should be but it was late, so i'm not sure ;) > I disagree with the translation from headlines to Schlagzeilen - it is a > word by word translation but feed-headlines are no headlines on the front > page of a magazin. The second tool after Agent where I am asked to make decisions, I'm progressing on world domination *gg* I like Überschriften best, in combination with Feed(s).
