DLL C:\WINDOWS\74m.dll is not a valid Windows image

In 2.90 I keep getting these errors (just since today - previously ok). Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the same errors keep popping up.
"Feedreader: feedreader.exe - Bad Image"
The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\twain.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskettes.
and
"Feedreader: feedreader.exe - Bad Image"
The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\74m.dll is not a valid windows image. Please check this against your installation diskettes.
But feedreader continues to work ok.

i have the same problem but wih CMC.dll and some others,
didnt do any major changes or installs/uninstall to my
system.... other than that great... Mine will close and exit
after two consecutive error messagees

I encounter the same problem in Feedreader 2.90 (not in an
earlier version).
For each and every feed I open, I get the same message,
but... for a variety of DLL's: Avicap, avifile, commdlg,
mmsystem, msvideo, olecli, olesvr, shell, tapi, ver.
I have to click all ten error messages away for every feed
item I want to see... is starting to get on my nerves.

The procedure entry point SMapLS could not be located in
the Dynamic Link Library KERNEL32.dll

The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\twain.dll is not a valid
Windows image.

I am getting similar problems with Windows XP Professional
and Feed Reader v2.9.
am receiving the following messages when I attempt to read
a news item:

Followed by
