When I go to Aquarium view, I can't get back. The "list
of feeds" bar on the side disappears and won't reappear.

Press the Aquarium button on the toolbar, or F11, or select
the Aquarium option on the menu.

Any of the above toggles the aquarium.
(just checked in 646, and works)

Won't work for me, and I have WinXP and I have version 2.7
    Build 646.

I have this problem as well. F11, menu etc worked for a few
weeks. Now I am stuck in Aquarium view and no bar on the
    side.

tried to reinstall. Delete etc. Still no change

I solved this problem so, that after instalation (ver. 2.8),
customisation of program and exiting it I changed status of
Feedreader.ini to read only. Program now starts always in 3-
panel mode. Exiting of Aquarium mode in running program is
still not possible, but after killing the program with Windows
Task Manager (normal exiting is because of R/O status of ini-
file not possible) program starts in 3-panel mode.
See differences in some lines in beginning and at end of ini-
file (not R/O) after exiting 3-panel and Aquarum modes.

It's possible to work aroung this problem by terminating the
feedreader process and deleting the feedreader.ini file from
    c:\documents and settings\<profile>\Application data\ and
then restarting Feedreader. At least you get your 3 panels
    back.
