When checking a feed which has an ampersand
character (&) in its name, the "Checking: <feed
name>..." text when it appears in the status bar takes
the ampersand to be showing that the following
character is a shortcut to access to the status bar, as
is the normal syntax. Presumably this character needs
to be escaped in some way so it is shown correctly.

Yeah, I've seen this as well.
It didn't look hard to replace in the sources, but I don't
remember where the problem was. IIRC there's a few other
places where this escaping is needed, too.
