#109 Hard coded colours mixed with system colours.

There seems to be quite a few instances of hard coded
colours mixed with system colours. This is causing
problems as I have a 'white text on black background'
colour scheme. The most notable are the pop up boxes,
which I presume have the new enteries from the feeds.
For me the text is not readable as it is black on a black
background.

The only other insance I have seen is the status bar,
that has white text on a sort of creamy background.
