  • Hey guys, password for tom and root is tomtom. root login is disabled by default. If you want to enable root login, follow the below steps Comment the below line in files "/etc/pam.d/gdm" and "/etc/pam.d/gdm-password". Save the file and login agian as root. "auth required pam_succeed_if.so user != root quiet" Enjoy :-)
  • I too had trouble logging in because no default password was provided. I found a work around though: Reboot the VM Choose recovery mode On the command line type: sudo passwd tom enter a new password for tom restart the vm signon to the vm using the new password you just assigned to tom
  • Downloaded image. Started up in vmware fine. Asked for UNIX username/password. At this point you are stuck and cannot go any further. I could not fined any information in the zip file or Web site for what the password is for the user tom or user root. This is why I gave it a 1 start rating.
