So this has been a great learning experience creating my own re-spin of MX Linux for distribution. Ever since coming back from the hospital, I've been thinking about some things.
I'm not sure a) there's enough interest in this from computer users b) that I even have the time to even maintain what I eventually intended on being a full distribution. c) Also, as I've mentioned, if I'm doing my own distribution, I want to do something that stands out and makes it different. While I was trying some things that others aren't doing, it's really not enough. I was planning on putting more work into it, but I think I see where I can better put this work into.
Quite frankly, my interests in operating systems actually lie in NixOS and FreeBSD. So I'm going to be shifting gears. Fearless Geek OS will become Fearless Geek System. This will be my own NixOS setup that I use for web design, development, and multimedia. It will include the Nix configuration files as well as other scripts I will be writing. It will be intended for newly installed NixOS systems.
So basically it's going to be a NixOS post-install script.
I also want to get back to FreeBSD. Of course it's not as widely used as Linux systems, but there are things I absolutely love about it and I want to see if there's anything I can do to help improve the experience there.
I also have other ideas that I want to work on developing. This would take too much time away from maintaining a whole Linux distribution. And I'm just one person. I didn't even have anyone reporting bugs on the alpha and beta versions of Fearless Geek OS. I think Fearless Geek System, installed on top of NixOS, will be a better way to go.
Thank you to those who checked out Fearless Geek OS.
