I created some regions and gates on a plot and I find how to display each one on a histogram but I would like to know if it's possible to apply color on a histogram of the global data according to these regions/gates created like we can do with a plot ?
Thank you in advance for your reply,

When a histogram shows only gated events (i.e. a gate is applied to the histogram plot), then the plot can be configured to use the gate-applied color to draw the histogram line (under "Format Plot").
However, it is not possible to apply gate colors to ungated global data in a histogram, which would mean that different parts of the histogram are drawn in different colors. The reason is: the histogram only shows one parameter on the x-axis, but regions are always drawn in dot plots with two parameters, one on the x-axis and one on the y-axis. Imagine that there are two regions/gates "above" each other in the dot plot - so they cover the same x-axis values, but different y-axis values. In the histogram of that x-axis, which gates color should be used? So the histogram plot does not know, which region/gate's color to use for the histogram.
Therfore that type of gate-based coloring is not possible.
Thinking about it, maybe the color of the histogram could be based on the gate that contains most events for the particular part of the histogram. Hm, something to consider for later versions of FCSalyzer.

How do you display different gated areas on a histogram? I know how to overlay ungated histograms but how to you gate histograms?

so I just checked and making regions and gates works on my computer.
Looking at your screenshot, I noticed that your region is called "R0" in the left plot, but the gate in the drop-down menu says "G0 = Live".
It seems to me that the definition of the gate is wrong. When defining a gate, you enter the relevant region under "Strategy". In this case, it should be "R0". The drop-down menu should the read "G0 = R0".
If you want to rename the gate, please click on "G0" and enter a new name.

You can set the gate for each overlay separately under the menu point "Plot - Format Plot/Overlay". Please see the attached image.
Hi,
I'm using the version 0.9.22 and I can't apply any gate that I created.
All gates that I created are in light grey and when I selected the plot is empty.
