Hello there I would greatly appreciate a small amount of your time to assist with my doctoral research at The University of Newcastle. The research concerns open source licensing and we're seeking developers working on Java projects. The research is supervised, ethics-approved, anonymous and results will be freely available. Participation will also provide a custom licensing report for your project. To learn more, please visit: http://licensing-research.newcastle.edu.au Thanks for reading this email, and I hope you'll consider participating. Best regards Ben Alex (My apologies for being off-topic; this list will not be emailed again) |

my answer as below Frank Alcantara <fra...@us...> wrote: Message body follows: Hi, first of all I must apologise to be using your time instead of dig inside the code ... sorry for that, but we are in a hurry here and I need to take fast decisions in a very short time. I am Frank Alcantara, one developer of egroupware, project admin of eAccelerator and other projects, I rum a company in Brasil and we was looking for something like you already did. At this moment we are doing a complete rebuild in egroupware to bring a better groupware solution. With a more flexible javascript user layer. Before I start using and working with your project I would like to know some very simple informations. Are you interested in have more developers in your project? ===> yes..i am interested in having more developers Did you tested your work in php? ===> no,,,you cannot use my work in php PHP is just used for uploading images///..you can not call HTML2PDF via PHP interface because HTML2PDF is pure JAVA..JRE is required, that is terrible...My recommendation: Please use FCKeditor only (not FCKitext)..and re-write PDF features for your PHP environment using php verssion of itext library. How do you see the possibility of we use your work inside our project? ===> whmm,i have no idea....i have no restriction to anyone that would like to re-use my works Can you support us is some way? We have one multi-language environment, and we would like to integrate your project in this environment, what will mean some extra work to you, do you see any problem with that? ====> Immediately, I can support you to compile, set up development environment to evaluate the software together..but frankly,,,my project is not going to be Acrobat LITE (truly lite WYSIWYG for PDF creation as Acrobat..it is really tough and sometimes I felt impossible)...but it is going to be Acrobat Dynamic LITE means "You defined a template and source of dynamic data ...HTML2PDF compile will generate multipe PDFs with data at exact position" ===> i can work with you at this area to improve HTML2PDF capability. The template can be designed by FCKeditor or FrontPage or by NotePad and some limication of HTML tags can be supported. Do you see any problem in change your license to lgpl? ==> i can change my license to any kind of license you want,,,but it must be a variables of GPL You can see our work in https://www.think-e.com.br/thinkegw ===> Your works is so amazing...i like your works...hope it will be open source project in future and I am pretty sure to use your stuff. Please do not take this site too seriously this is our playground so most of time things are not working. If you are intereseted in let us join you we can work in some kind of arrangement where we can help each other and get a better web editor. Hi, I think FCKitext is based on a very good idea. What do I have to consider when I want to integrate it in a webapp? Are all HTML-Tags form FCKeditor supported. Can every HTML file be transformed (text only)? What about fonts, are they transformed correctly? And what about tables (fixed/variable)? Here is my source, I pass to the SaxParser the output of tidy. The
problem is that the parser tells that the DocType in output.out is not
ok. Once I edit the output.out the parser works. Is there a way to make
tidy not write in output.out the Doctype? I tried the method setDocType
but it doesn't seem to work.
Thanks in advance,
Luiz
FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream("output.pdf");
PdfWriter writer = PdfWriter.getInstance(document, out);
SAXParser parser = SAXParserFactory.newInstance().newSAXParser();
URL url = new URL("http://www.lowagie.com/iText/tutorial/ch07.html");
InputStream in = url.openStream();
InputSource is = new InputSource(in);
//my private method that generates the output of tidy
tidy(in,"output.out");
parser.parse("output.out",new
NesoneSAXHtmlHandler(document,null,writer));
//tidy method
private static void tidy(InputStream in, String output)
{
FileOutputStream out;
Tidy tidy = new Tidy();
try {
tidy.setErrout(new PrintWriter(new FileWriter("tidy.error"),
true));
out = new FileOutputStream(output);
tidy.setXmlOut(true);
tidy.setUpperCaseTags(true);
tidy.setUpperCaseAttrs(true);
tidy.setQuoteNbsp(false);
tidy.setQuoteAmpersand(false);
tidy.setNumEntities(true);
tidy.setCharEncoding(Configuration.UTF8);
tidy.parse(in, out);
}
catch ( IOException eio )
{
eio.printStackTrace();
}
}

Dear Taa Boo, I'm using your handler but I'm not having success in making SaxParser work with it. I think the problem is with the DocType that tidy writes into its output file. Please, where can I find the Tidy documentation of the .jar you are using with Html2PDF example? When I remove the DocType tag from Tidy's output I get an exception complaining about the kind of String the parser receives: java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "+3" at org.apache.crimson.parser.Parser2.parseInternal(Parser2.java:658) at org.apache.crimson.parser.Parser2.parse(Parser2.java:333) at org.apache.crimson.parser.XMLReaderImpl.parse(XMLReaderImpl.java:448) at javax.xml.parsers.SAXParser.parse(SAXParser.java:345) at javax.xml.parsers.SAXParser.parse(SAXParser.java:223) at TesteHandlerKoreano.main(TesteHandlerKoreano.java:67) For input string: "+3" Is there any way to make the SaxParser ignore these inputs?
