Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |

The method is (as I understand it) to have 2 fb105's, 1 at their end the other at my end. Tunnels are then created down each adsl link and 'bonded'. I have a fb105 setup and installed at their end, my aim is now to create a linux router at my end to basically simulate the fb105's tunneling setup. Hope this makes some sort of sense. Barry |

I've always assumed that it would be used at the 'client' end talking to a firebrick. I don't think its too hard to add 'multiple tunnel' support - there are some wrinkles with adding a reasonable configuration file and the like. Can you describe what you're trying to do more fully, and I'll see what I can do. Cheers, Rick |

Hi, I've started to experiment with the fbtunnel and so far so good but I was wondering if multiple tunnels was any closer to being solved? Quote from website "Points of note: the Reference at the fbtunnel end is always 1 (for now)." I've managed to blunder my way through the code and be able to change the tunnel ID but then I get the "can't bind to socket" error if i run more than one instance of fbtunnel. Perfectly understandable error, just beyond my knowledge to fix :( Regards Barry |

Perhaps the encoding of the packet is wrong - and the FireBrick ignoring it? We could do a couple of things. You could setup a tunnel for me, let me have the key and firebrick IP (offlist), and I could try from my end to bring a tunnel up with your FireBrick. We could also see if you could bring up a tunnel to mine. Drop me a note, and we'll sort something out - so we can find where the problem lies. I'm in the process of adding some debug code to fbtunnel - so it will dump the details of packets sent and received. That should help with debugging. Rick |

Hello, I am having problems getting fbtunnel under linux to talk to my FB. I know the filter is working correctly as it logs to syslog when a connection is made to UDP port 1, but when I run fbtunnel, tcpdump shows that it is trying to make a connection to UDP port 1 on the FB, but nothing is logged in the filter and nothing is ACKed in tcpdump. Any ideas? James |
