This note is just a cautionary note for other users. It's not obvious (at least to me) from the documentation that the value of an attribute will occasionally be fragmented. This ended up causing me no end of grief, so this note may help others. The entire attribute value is actually a concatenation of a linked list character chunks. The 'FAXPP_ATTRValue' structure has an element 'next' that may point to another 'FAXPP_ATTRValue' structure and so on. For the most part (i.e. almost always), there is only one but not always (and this is where I came a cropper). If the parser was created with the mode as NO_CHECKS_PARSE_MODE, the attribute value can be split. This occurs when the attribute value occurs where input buffers (chunks of 16KB) cross. If the parser was created with the mode set to WELL_FORMED_PARSE_MODE then it seems that there will only be one FAXPP_ATTRValue structure (at least for regular character attributes) because there is a copied (malloced) attribute value returned. Faxpp is a small, fast and conformant XML pull parser written in C with an API that can return strings in any encoding, including UTF-8 and UTF-16. This release is a beta release, to allow users to test the parser and provide feedback on problems. This release fixes a number of bugs since the previous release. Hi thanks for your mail, I can see in your documentation two differents APIs. I juste can use the FAXPP parser API who provides an event based pull API for parsing XML documentation. I include the header files for the API who are in faxpp-0.3/include/ in my include path. But in the floder faxpp-0.3/src/, there are the source for two APIs. What is the necessary source for the parsing API? |

Hi Arnaud, In that case you need to add everything inside faxpp-0.3/src/ to your project, and add faxpp-0.3/include/ to your include path. Creating Windows project files for FAXPP is definitely on my todo list. Hi Arnaud, What platform are you building on? If you are using some form of unix you can simply use the configure script provided with the following sequence of commands: cd faxpp-0.3/ ./configure make make install The header files for the library are in faxpp-0.3/include/, and the source files for it are in faxpp-0.3/src/. The example programs are in faxpp-0.3/examples/, but these are not needed to use FAXPP from your own program. Hi Xie, It looks like Windows doesn't provide the stdint.h header. Can you replace the include in include/faxpp/transcode.h with this: #ifdef _MSC_VER typedef unsigned __int8 uint8_t typedef unsigned __int16 uint16_t typedef unsigned __int32 uint32_t #else #include <stdint.h> #endif which should make faxpp compile properly. Hi Xie, If your using a flavour of unix, cygwin or mingw you can simply run the "configure" script, then run "make" to build the project. Unfortunately I haven't got around to getting Windows project files yet, but you should be able to just add eveything in the src/ and include/ directory to a project and build it without any problems. Faxpp is a small, fast XML pull parser written in C with an API that can return UTF-8 or UTF-16 strings. It currently has no DTD support, although it is planned. This release is an alpha release, to allow users to experiment with the parser. Changes include attribute value normalization, better encoding and streaming input support, and many bug fixes found by running the XML Conformance Test Suite. Faxpp is a small, fast XML pull parser written in C with an API that can return UTF-8 or UTF-16 strings. It currently has no DTD support, although it is planned. Faxpp 0.1 is the first alpha release of the project, featuring an event based pull API, output in either UTF-8 or UTF-16, well-formed XML document parsing and streaming input.
