Within the view tab, an administrative user can:
- view tables of basic farm data such as crops and fields, as well as a Field Record that provides complete information on all activity in a selected field (Tables)
- graphs of production and sales data (Graphs)
- upload, download and view files (Files)
Tables
Field
This tab displays a table of information about all fields, including size and number of beds.
Units
This tab displays a table of all harvest units for each crop. For any unit that is not the default unit for a crop, an administrative user can:
- delete the unit by clicking the "Delete" button
- update the conversion factor from the unit to the default unit by editing the conversion factor and clicking "Update"
Crops
This tab displays a table of information about all crops, including the default unit and whether the crop is active (can be planted and harvested). If the invoice tab has been selected, this table also displays the invoice units and units per case for invoices.
Field Record
To run a field record:
- select a date range
- select a field
- FARMDATA will then display tables of all activity (planting, harvesting, tillage, composting, ...) in the selected field during the date range.
Crop History
To view a crop history report:
- select beginning and ending years
- select a field (or All)
- click "Submit"
- FARMDATA will then display a table of all direct planting, transplanting and cover crop planting in the specified field(s) for the specified range of years. For direct planted and transplanted crops, the total bed feet planted is displayed for each crop. For cover crops, the total acres planted in each planting is displayed.
Graphs
To view a graph of yield/row foot:
- select a year
- select a crop
- click "Submit"
- FARMDATA will then display a bar graph of the yield/row foot for the crop each field in which the crop was planted in the specified year, along with the overall yield/row foot for all fields.
Total Yield
To view a graph of total yield:
- select a year
- select a crop
- click "Submit"
- FARMDATA will then display a bar graph of the total yield for the crop in each field in which the crop was planted in the specified year, along with the overall total yield for all fields.
Quantity Harvested
To view a graph of daily harvests:
- select a date range
- select a crop
- click "Submit"
- FARMDATA will then display a bar graph of the total harvest of that crop for each day in the date range that it was harvested. Each bar is color-coded to indicate the fields that the crop was harvested from.
Invoice (optional tab)
If the invoice tab is selected, this tab can be used to view a pie chart of sales. To view this chart:
- select a date range
- click "Submit"
- FARMDATA will then display a color-coded pie chart that shows the relative income from crops and products on invoices during the date range.
Files
The files tab allows an administrator to upload arbitrary files (crop plans, seeding calendars, ...) and then download them from FARMDATA and view them later. Additionally, database backups made using Admin->Configuration->Backup are stored here. Within the files tab, an administrative user can:

select files by checking the "Sel" column
- multiple selected files can be deleted (moved to trash) by clicking the "Delete" button
- individual selected files can be renamed and deleted using the "Rename" and "Delete" buttons

the "Action" column provides the following possible actions (not all actions are available for all files):
- E - edit the (text) file
- V - view the (text) file
- D - download the file

click the "Trash Can" link to manage trash files:
- use the "Restore" button to restore selected files to the files tab
- use the "Empty" button to delete all trash files

the remaining options in this tab allow administrative users to:
- create a folder (enter the folder name and click "Create folder")
- create a new (text) file (enter the file name and click "Create file")
- upload a file from their computer (use the "Browse" button to find the file and then click "Upload")
- upload a file from a web page (enter the URL and click "URL Upload")
Web File Browser is an open source project (https://github.com/cgdave/webfilebrowser) that has been adapted for use within FARMDATA.
